Hosted RadioDNS: what you get and what it costs
RadioDNS lets newer car radios and apps show your station's name and logo, and follow it to your internet stream. We set it up, register it and keep it working, so you do not run any servers. Minimum term: 12 months.

Listed
Setup: $79 one time (free for the first 10 stations)
Then: $99 per year
- Your own web address for your station, yourname.rdns.nexusbroadcast.com, with a small page that shows what a radio sees.
- Your station's information file (name, descriptions, links, stream), checked against the official schema before it goes live.
- Your logo made in all five sizes RadioDNS asks for, and your station name and descriptions.
- A link to your internet stream, with the delay behind the air included where we can measure it.
- We send your registration request to RadioDNS, follow it through, and check that it works with the free Nexus RadioDNS checker.
- Monitoring of your files, DNS records and certificate, so a problem is seen by us, not by your listeners.
- We keep the files up to date when you tell us your stream or frequency has changed.
Listed + Slideshow
Setup: $49 one time extra
Then: $49 per year extra
- Everything in Listed.
- The song title and album art sent to compatible radios as each song starts, read from Live365, an Icecast or Shoutcast server, or sent by your playout software.
- Your station logo and name whenever there is no artwork, such as for station IDs and jingles.
- Album art comes from your own source. Looking artwork up elsewhere stays off unless you ask for it in writing.
- The live stream of song updates is monitored along with everything else.
The slideshow is an add-on to Listed.
Assist
$49 per hour
- Help setting the RDS PI and ECC on your encoder, measuring your stream's delay, or anything else the plans do not cover.
Only when you ask.
What we need from you
- Your written okay for us to register the station with RadioDNS (the application form asks for it).
- Your logo, your station name and a short description, and the details of your internet stream if you have one.
- Your RDS settings on your own encoder, including the extended country code (ECC), which a radio needs in order to find you. We tell you exactly what to set; we do not touch your equipment.
- For the slideshow, a way to read the current song, and a note to us if it changes.
What we do not promise
- That any particular radio will show anything. Only some vehicles and apps use RadioDNS today, and the list is growing. RadioDNS's own list names makers such as Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche and BMW. We will tell you plainly what to expect.
- Your stream, your encoder or your playout system: those stay yours.
- Legal clearance of artwork you send us: you are responsible for what you supply.
If you leave
Your station's information, logos and settings are yours. Within 14 days of your asking, we give you the files and settings so you can run the same thing yourself or move it elsewhere, and we help you move your registration. You are not locked in.
How we use what you send
Only to set up and run your service and to reply to you; we do not sell it. See our privacy policy.
